Locating WIFI Hotspots - A Few Simple Tricks!

Hotspots are public wireless Internet access points. Most laptops and some PDAs can access the Internet by connecting to them.

Of course, you have to find them first. Here are a few ways you can do that.

You could walk around the city, looking for them. Sometimes that's the best way to do it. If you have a few minutes, pull out your laptop and see if there are any hotspots you can connect to. If there are, file away that information for the future.

Make sure that you share this information with anyone who's curious. That's another way to find them. Ask around. Lots of people will share this information with you if you ask them to.

Many businesses advertise their free Internet. Look at the advertising of cafes, restaurants, hotels, malls, etc.

If you're wondering about a certain area, phone up some of the businesses nearby and ask them if they have one. If they don't, ask them why not. Tell them you only go to restaurants and cafes with hotspots. Maybe they'll create one if enough people ask for one.

Some might have a password. Ask the business if you can have the password. They'll usually give it to you if you ask nice.

You can also try the old standbys. Most businesses use their phone number or fax number as their password. These are easy enough to find. Others just use a blank password or they use "password" as their password. Companies that make it this easy to get in usually don't mind if you use their network.

Of course, I don't recommend or condone hacking into people's networks, so always get permission before do this.

If you look around, you'll probably find one. Then you can check your email wherever you are.

What Makes a Computer Slow

Are you asking the common question "Why is my computer running slow?" This will be by most computer users after they have been using their new computer for a while. If you want to resolve this problem, then you need to be reading this article. The problem of the slow running computer will usually come down to three main reasons. Looking first at the computer registry. Next checking for a virus that might have infected the system to scanning for malware such as adware or spyware.

It has been found that the main reason for a slow running computer stems from problems that are occurring within the registry. When you bring home your new laptop or PC, it runs just great because it is fully optimized. However over a period of time, the registry gets overloaded and cluttered as we add new programs and applications. Then conflicts start occurring and files become corrupt and problems such as a decrease in computer performance start to happen. If left untreated, additional problems such as dll error messages and computer crashes will occur.

The best and simplest way to deal with these problems in the registry by running a free scan with one of the top registry repair programs. These will highlight the errors and believe me you will be surprised at how many do exist.

The second reason for the slowness could be the possibility of a virus that has infected your computer. Run a program such as AVG ( you can use the free version) and it should highlight any virus that could be there.

The third is the present of adware or spyware. If you are having unwanted popups then this is a good indicator that this malware exists. I stress that you should run a free scan or download to confirm if it does exist, because this malware will try to monitor your keystrokes and leave your personnel and private details such as passwords at risk.

Learning Photoshop Is a Lot of Fun!

Learning Photoshop Is a Lot of Fun!

Adobe Photoshop is such a complex application with far too many features. However once you master it essentially nothing is impossible. Reality can be turned on it's head, night can turn into day, skin into marble and your pet can sport a cute outfit and YES a matador can have a bull's head. It's all in your imagination and enthusiasm!

My experience with this amazing program started about 10 years ago. At that time I was using Adobe Photoshop 3.0 (I know, long time gone!) and I just could not stop, constantly trying new effects, filters, textures, brushes, colors and many more in my Photoshop Lab (a.k.a. my apartment).

I was curious and excited, willing to put in as much time as necessary to find out everything I could about the vast array of features that Adobe Photoshop has to offer. So I tried and then reworked, revised and then tried some more... and this is how my new passion was born!

My new passion soon become my work. I just started working at one of the New York ad agencies and I truly loved it. Each day it was a thrill and a challenge for me. I remember how excited I was when I have found something new in this amazing program. The truth is that regardless of the level of your experience with Adobe Photoshop, mastering it could be somewhat overwhelming. However the good news is that you don't have to be a Photoshop expert to create sophisticated effects and HELP is on the way!
